July is the hottest summer month here and we are always busy shearing the sheep on the farm. The cottage gardens are at their loveliest at this time of year and the wild flowers on the hill are in full bloom.

There are lots of great events in Edinburgh this month with festival season kicking off.

Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival

Festivals

The highlight this month has got to be the Jazz & Blues Festival and Carnival. The festival presents over 140 performances throughout the city culminating in a dazzling carnival under the Castle, expect an extravaganza of African drummers, Balkan beats and swirling dancers.
